Have you heard skittering in the evening? Chances are, it was a dharkling lurking just beyond the borders of your sight… or maybe even this realm. Dharklings are said to be comprised of malignant shadows and spiteful dust. They are the Sleeping Emperor’s knives of the eventide. With their hateful blades they come and cut away at your dreams if they live you living at all. They come stepping out of shadows and are gone in a whisper. Their faces the most unnerving of all as they gaze at you with a soulless, remorseless visage. Be wary traveler of the shadow that looks as though it is following you!

I'm inspired by fantasy art, mythology and fairytales, Brian Froud and his work with Jim Henson on films like The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, and stop-motion animation. When I started hand-making polymer clay art dolls and pulling in all of these early influences that have stuck with me, I realized that I could make my sketches come to life, feel more like a complete reality than I ever could with two-dimensional art.

Vėjūnė is a community manager who helps artists all over the world introduce their artwork to Bored Panda readers and in that way, become more popular. Since she was always fascinated by the art world, she studied Culture Management and Cultural Policy at Vilnius Academy of Arts where she expanded her knowledge about it. Now she's using all this knowledge to showcase its beauty and help others dive into the fascinating world of art.
