I’m A GP, And I Wrote 3 New Year’s Wishes For Everybody Facing Depression, Anxiety, And Loneliness
I’m a GP in Canada, and I’ve seen the pandemic worsen mental health and fuel drug and alcohol use. This is on top of the “usual” anguish of grief, depression, anxiety, and loneliness.
So I wrote this letter to everyone who’s facing these challenges.
Wishing everyone happy holidays and warmth.

Share on FacebookI'm a 53F. I'm disgusted with my behavior for the past 4 years. I'm angry at myself. I'm feeling depression starting to hang over me like a black cloud. I ate so terribly during this past month, and put on at least 15-20 lbs, and this was after following a keto diet successfully for the past 7 months. I'm extra disgusted with myself over that. This post, your 3 wishes, is just what I needed. Im copying it all down, in a new little notebook I bought for myself, so I can write down inspirations and ideas and thoughts to help better myself in 2022, and further. I'm lucky because I have a wonderful husband of 19 years, my Mom is still alive and only 20 miles away, and I have the best dog, my beagle, ever. I have a lot going for me. Your post is going to help me fire the starting gun. Just one more day of leisure and comfort food, and then I'm on it, on New Year's Day. A new life's starting day. I can do this. I've got this. I'm going to be successful, and be ok. TYSM <3
I hope you'll be fine. I wish you a lot of joy, love and hapiness.
Load More Replies..."the gig dosen't go on forever" Very true. I was a first responder and met many people on the last/worst day of their lives. It often comes with no warning. Make the most of what you've got.
Thank you for reminding us of how quick it can all end. It's something we don't think about, but we should. Happy New Year, and thank you for your help as a first responder, and for saving lives and helping others.
