I found an old essay that I had written 15 years ago when I was 7 and decided to make an animation of the story on my much loved scanner by drawing and using materials found around my apartment for the backgrounds.

I loved the notion of breathing life back into this 15 year old story. I drew my own ‘mini-me’ character from scratch and using my scanner to create the scenes was able to add my character and bit by bit the story came to life.

This 2 minute animation took a little less than a week of very hard work, morning to night (sometimes all night) and so I hope you will click on the link and enjoy it :)

If you did (or didn’t) enjoy the video let me know! Or even if you have some questions. Comment, like, share, up vote or whatever, thanks!

P.S. Please follow the ‘More Info URL’ to find the video on Vimeo.

Also I do not own the lovely sound track which is Pans Labyrinth played through a music box, you can find it at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47mLY8vX3L0

Each little movement took hours of scanning and work.

I created the backgrounds by building them on to the scanner bed with materials I had lying around my apartment, and then scanned it all in

From there I was able to incorporate my little person.

Each scene was composed of 100’s of frames together, which I brought into Premier Pro and played back.
