I have a new milestone to share with you! I am an artist and Crazy Cat Lady, and I have been creating colourful whimsy cat art for several years now which I call as my Cats of Karavella Collection. (see please my previous posts on Bored Panda)
Last year in December I had this idea, why not give a try this time with more realistic watercolour cat portraits? But I didn’t want just to paint about random cat photos from the net, so I asked my followers at my Cats of Karavella Atelier Facebook Page, and the members in my favourite Just Cat Things Group, that who would like to be the Next Cat Model, or muse, inspiration to my watercolor cat paintings, to celebrate this sophisticated felines.
I thought this way will be more fun, also I could get direct feedback about my artworks.
I started to receive weekly lots of wonderful images about lovely cats, about every fur colour, type, and breed, and although it was always very difficult to choose from the variety of beautiful cats, I had to make my selection based on the quality of the photographs, and my current mood. I tried to make at least two or three paintings every week, and soon received regularly also commissions too to paint cat portraits as gifts, for memoir about beloved pets, or lovely paintings to decorate the wall about furry friends.
Now about 10 months later, my watercolor Cat Portraits Collection arrived at 100 paintings, and I just cannot be grateful enough for the number of photographs, requests, appreciation, encouragement, comments with lots of compliments and support I am receiving daily from my dear cat-lover friends and followers, collectors and patrons! With their help and support, my dream came true, and allowed me to live as a professional artist.

Thank you so much Dorothy! It was a long journey, I thought to finish to make 100 cat paintings in half year, but I did it in 10, so I am satisfied :D
