We all like to start the new year with the not-so-humble brag that this year we are going to become the best version of ourselves, so it only made sense that the first internet viral thread of 2019 followed this theme. Unless you have been on a social media cleanse you have seen a #10YearChallenge then and now pictures post. The idea is simple, post side-by-side comparison photos of yourself from both years just to prove how strong your glow-up was.
Call it narcissistic if you want, but there is no denying that for some people out there, like a fine wine, they only got better with time. Some of them found very positive changes in discovering who they are; others went from ugly ducklings to full-on swans. This list shows the best #10YearChallenges from celebrities and regular social media users alike that highlights the most drastic body transformations along with those who haven't seemed to have aged a day. I love the ones that aren't just "I got more pretty/handsome", that are instead mental health changes. I admire someone who fought depression and won much more than I do someone who just got prettier over 10 years.

First off I am a badass. And I’m a girl who WAS a boy. It’s kinda weird because I don’t feel sick or mentally ill. I feel like I can breath. Like I don’t have to pretend anymore. Like I shouldn’t have to deal with people who are mean just because I am who I feel comfortable as. And I also feel like most you here aren’t a psychologist and should shut the f**k up.

To the persons that keep spouting that being transgendered is a mental illness, they need to read psychiatric texts later than from the 1980s. The World Health Organization states that "the evidence is now clear that it is NOT a mental disorder" While transgendered people can suffer from other mental health issues, being transgendered in itself is not one. The American Psychological Association themselves state that the issue is up to debate. You don't get to decide for other people what they are. Stop assuming there's only XX or XY. Genetics tells us that there are many variations: xxy, xyy, xxxy, etc. And these variants can result in a wide range of life conditions, including dyslexia or the knowledge that you are physically one sex, but mentally/emotionally the other. Just because someone "Looks" male to you, doesn't make it the case.

It’s so amazing to me that genders are culturally so far apart in appearance, roles, etc. and so close in biological or genetic structure. I take joy in the fact that he was able to complete his transformation into who he really is :-)

Are you truly happy? The one trans person I know (I knew him when he was a she & we're still friends) has tried to kill himself multiple times & is constantly in some form of crisis. Is this normal?

Trans people can be mentally ill and it doesn't always have to do with them being transgender, just that they can get depressed like everyone else. That being said, trans people meet with a lot of transphobia and that can be a huge burden to have to carry with you. If you want to help your friend, make sure he seeks counselling from a trans-positive therapist!

Unfortunately, I can't reply to him because his answer is below the threshold, but I find it delicious he included a link to a video from "American College of Pediatricians", which just happens to be an anti-LGBT hate group masquerading as a legit organization... Charming. And then he manages to prove he understands nothing about chromosomes and gender, because he falls into the old "chromosomes = sex" kindergarten simplification. So please riddle me this, lumpy, if that's the way it works, how about the De la Chapelle syndrome? It's a condition where an individual has a pair of XX chromosomes and nonetheless ends up as phenotypically male, including male genitalia and a male gender identity. And how about animal species which don't have a Y chromosome at all and yet manage to have genders? But noo, if YOU learned in school about a thing, then the world must conform to your ideas about it, because tha's the way it works. You little arrogant prick.

I just love Gordon Ramsay. I watch his new show "24 Hours to Hell", I believe that is what it is. On this show he fixes more then the restaurants, he helps the people. He is actually a really good person.

And with facial laser resurfacing, micro dermal abrasion, fillers, little nips and tucks and massages yeah I'd look great too. Oh and the chef, nannies, cleaners, a driver or two and gardeners. Getting well paid, mortgage paid off, accountant pays the bills on time, children getting well educated, supporting the family...life is great!

Sorry, not sorry. I agree with Andreas, this comment is creepy. Not sure what you mean by "nicer", but she's literally a child in the left portrait. Also, to equate sexuality with morality is f*****g GROSSSSS. She's not a s**t, or mean, or a worse person in the right photo. It's the same exact person, just dressed and posed differently. On the original Instagram post is the following, which probably explains it a little better: guinnessworldrecords In January 2009 the record for the tallest man living was held by Xi Shun (China) who measured 2.361 m (7 ft 8.95 in). Oh wow I guess I’m even aging wrong. I look 10 yrs older not hotter. Wtf social media has everyone thinking 10 yrs u should be hotter? For the kids, that’s cool, but for grownass people wtf. It’s 10 yrs, life is hard! Sorry I got older and tired not hotter. I spent my time working and on education, not makeup tutorials,’plastic surgery and filters/photoshop lol 🙄

Why isn't someone allowed to be happy with themselves and how they look? They're not spreading any kind of negativity and you don't have to be happy for them, but let them enjoy their changes, whether that's weight loss or gain, getting fit, correcting their gender, getting through surgeries and such! It's not going to impact your life whatsoever if they're happy with themselves. Live and let live!

As JP says you wouldn't tell your Alzheimer's patient that yes the ghosts they see are real and it is illegal for anyone to tell you otherwise
