Living in China I See The Most Ridiculous Things Like These People Who Have No Idea What They’re Wearing
Living in China I tend to come across some of the most ridiculous things. I wanted to share my experiences with my friends all over so I started an Instagram @shanghaiobserved to share daily photos of Shanghai: #dailyshanghaiphoto.
It quickly turned into something people all over could relate to and I started to get submissions from lots of different people. My feed consists of all the strange things I see on a daily basis. Here is a collection of my favorite pieces of clothing and accessories.

My daughter did some modeling in Japan when she was a toddler. The clothing company dressed one of the little boys in the same shoot as her in a t-shirt that has an image of a peanut butter cup and it said "peanut butter MF" (but spelled out). The boy's mom asked them to use a different shirt, but when the magazine came out, they'd found a little boy whose parents apparently approved. Yikes!
I bet he knows exactly what he's wearing :D maybe also enjoying that others around him might not.
Graphic pic says it all. There's no lost in translation in this. ha!
is this the equivalent of Americans getting Chinese lettering tattoos?
Yullia, please don't spam Bored Panda. It's unbecoming, and we're not going to fall for your click bait anyway.
Just like all those people with Chinese tattoos that say something completely different than what they thought/were told lol!
It does happen in reverse by the way, the Chinese getting English tattoos and not knowing what they mean. On the Beijing subway I met a girl with "government whore" tattooed across her belly. She had no idea what it meant, but she liked the letters.
Load More Replies...I get the feeling some people know exactly what the shirts say and they're trying to get a reaction.
I've seen some pretty stupid clothes. My guess is that a company prints something stupid that nobody buys so they resell it to Asian countries without telling them what it says and they in turn sell it to their own oblivious people.
Load More Replies...Older people and kids can't understand, but teenagers and younger people? Come on! I live in Serbia and my 5 year old can translate most of this in Serbian (without vulgar words, he doesn't know them). The point is, not all of these people wears something they don't understand. Some of them does and they like it.
I don't have a pic, bu I did see a woman with a hat on that had an arrow point to her her face that said Insert c**k here.
My grandma does not understand English so she got me sandals that say sexy lolololol
Yep, but stupid people will always exclaim "Photoshop!" when they've never experienced anything in life.
Load More Replies...Haha, I lived in China too and loved taking those pics. But I don't share them :p
These aren't just photoshopped? People actually wear these clothes?! Lmao
Load More Replies...Why I never wear anything with Text in any language other than English.....
No, it is not all photo shopped. Similar things are done with other languages in English speaking countries, namely with tattoos.
i really dont beleive what kind of f*****g cloths they wear, and my parents say i'm messed up
Did you get their permission to post their photos? Did you explain it's for a post highlighting their ignorance? What kind of person travels to entertain others at the expense of the native population? Smh
Best T-shirt quotes ever, except a few like "I am a Whore". I love it...
It's a stretch to assume that they all don't know what they are wearing. Perhaps some of them just have a wicked sense of humour.

It's cruel that people would do that to someone just to get a few bucks.
Not this time bored panda. Lol. There is no way all these are his photos. His Instagram account has stuff you can find in YouTube and shutterstock.
I remember that in high school I wanted a saying shirt. My mom bought me one. Guess what it said? Stuff happens as opposed to s**t happens. Thought it was kinda funny
Living in China myself I can confirm this stuff is real. It's bonkers.
Why don't you say people that put on Chinese tattoos without knowing what it means, yet coming and talk like we Chinese people are idiots? Unless you're one of the big business people, otherwise it's rare for a common Chinese to understand English. Do you know how to speak Chinese? Do you know how to speak Mandarin? Do you know how to speak Cantonese? Do you know the Chinese culture? I think your post is very disrespectful to Chinese people. Have you earned their permission to photograph them and putting these images online? Even if they do, is it necessary for you to stump Chinese people under your foot? If you don't understand Chinese, go learn it yourself. We Chinese people know the western culture, and you should learn the Chinese culture before laughing at us! This is the most disrespectful title AND post I've ever seen in my life!
A lot of this looks photoshopped to me. If you look really close you can see, a lot is not centered on the garment, and where there are folds in the material there are no folds in the lettering.
Obviously photoshop!! dont make to seem people so stupid you donkeys!!!
You obviously haven't spent much time in Asia.
Load More Replies...Probably not actually. I live in Turkey and see similar things (in English) on t-shirts worn by Turks who probably have no idea what they're wearing.
Load More Replies...Your action of showing off these pictures makes you much more ridiculous than those in the picture.
Why? The author doesn't ridicule the people, (s)he ridicules the clothes - rightfully so
Load More Replies...I think that's how Chinese and Japanese people feel about westeners with tattoos with Chinese/Japanese symbols
