Bra Company Boss Wants His Male Employees To Understand What It’s Like To Live With Large Breasts

Sometimes, being a woman can be tough. Painfully nauseous periods, carrying and birthing children, bras that stab you in the back, bras in general… Oh, if only men would know what we go through. Well, now a bra company’s CEO is giving his male employees a taste of what it’s like to be a woman.

PrimaDonna CEO Ignace Van Doorselaere, makes his male employees wear fake boobs, so they’d experience what it’s like to be a woman. “There is only one way for a man to realize what an E-cup feels like, and that is having an E-cup,” he says. So, since the average E-cup weighs around 2.2-3.5 lbs (1-1.5kg) per breast, Doorselaere makes his employees wear weights hung around their necks. And when the fake breasts start to hurt their backs and necks, is when they understand how important good support is…

“Good support is important. Everybody at PrimaDonna knows that now,” Doorselaere says.

“It hurts your back”

And leaves painful red marks

Yes, there are some fun moments

But you have to walk a mile in women’s shoes to understand what it’s like

Doorselaere invites you to try it yourself, what do you say?

This wasn't an attempt to make all men understand all aspects of all women. This was an attempt to teach the employees something about their client base. I will admit that knowledge and empathy are a step toward gender equality, but I don't think anyone believes these 10 employees are going to get us there. The "We understand women" message at the end was just some marketing guy's flame bait.

A man giving MORE men "a taste of what it's like to be a woman" - sounds more like a marketing ploy than anything else. Maybe if more women actually made the bras, they would feel better and fit better. What a jerk.

So THIS is why it's so hard to find the appropriate bra...! It's because they were made and administrated by those who naturally don't need them... (Okay, joke, I know it depends and varies from company to company, but just a tought...)

Hi Daria, make no mistake, at PrimaDonna 90% of our employees are women! Our CEO (the one you see talking in the movie) had this idea to let our (few) male colleagues understand what it is like to have a larger cup size. Every day we work hard on making our bras stronger, more comfortable and prettier, to be able to support women with a larger cup size in the best possible way. We are constantly innovating and looking for better designs and materials. We have real women with different sizes (also our own employees actually :-)) test our bras and give us feedback on comfort and fit before we decide they are ready to go in production. Our video is playful and does not intend to be scientific nor even realistic. We just wanted to make a statement. By letting men feel the weight (which is of course only one of the aspects causing discomfort), we wanted them to realize that good lingerie is very important. Your bra can do miracles for your body, your posture and your silhouette.

I buy this company's bras and they are above and beyond the best on the market, this is clearly why as they take the time to understand what we need. Sadly they are £65 a pop minimum....sickening when lil boob girls can get a nice bra for a fiver.

Hi Sarah, so happy to read you like our lingerie! As far as the price is concerned, at PrimaDonna we try to create the most qualitative products at a strong price point. We develop our models 18 months in advance. This is needed to get the best qualitative fabrics, the best fit (we let real women test our bras and give feedback) and do all the necessary quality controls. Hope you stay a fan!
