We Recreated Albanian Communism Era Lifestyle In A Special Photo Editorial
This editorial of LIVING ALBANIA MAGAZINE is not an act of nostalgia toward the Albanian dictatorship and communism era. It really was a painful and horrible time for Albanians.
This is just a recall for the Albanian lifestyle, including clothing, furniture, look etc. Those 50 years of Albanian isolation under communism leadership have always generated a lot of curiosity and attraction, especially for foreigner, but also for some young Albanians, who did not make it to live even a single day under communism regime.

Excellent shots and attention to the details is extraordinary. However it's a pity that the two models stand in stark contrast to the "authentic" furnitures and surroundings. It is they have made no effort at all to look the part. Too much makeup and very little body hair.
It is supposed to be a creative and a remake of the communism, not a typical communism set of photos. There are plenty of communism pics in archives, no need to reproduce them. We wanted the editorial to be bizarre and something between two periods.

Not only there were jeans during communism times in Albania, but jeans have been everywhere a communism "landmark" and highlight. Rebels would wear jeans back then as a form to go against the regime. We haven't applied makeup in our models, it is the camera's lights effect, but anyways women used make-up back those days, though it was different from the sophisticated today make-up.
