Australia Uses Trivia Signs To Keep Drivers Awake On Long And Boring Roads, And It’s Genius

Have you ever driven on a road so long that the government installs trivia signs to stop you from falling asleep out of boredom? No? Then you haven’t been to Australia.

The country is huge, so it shouldn’t surprise you to learn that the land down under has some equally epic roads. One strip of tarmac between Balladonia and Caiguna doesn’t even have a single turn for 90 miles, making it one of the longest straight stretches of road in the world (not to mention one of the most boring). But as you can see below, somebody has come up with a brilliant way to help drivers stay alert while travelling through the outback. Would these trivia signs keep you awake on a long car journey? Let us know in the comments below. (h/t: twistedsifter)

Cool idea. I suggest using the 122 million dollars (AUD) the government is wasting on an embarrassing, nonbinding snail mail plebiscite on civil rights to make the signs LED. Questions could then be changed periodically & make them more visible.

So, that's the cause of some accidents: people searching the answers on the Internet, while driving!
