That is absolutely awful. I am very sorry to hear that happened to your family. Cruelty to animals just for fun or pleasure is an early sign of anti social personality disorder aka psychopaths and sociopaths. These are the people you need to avoid. They can't feel empathy nor do they have any regards to morals or social norms. These are the people that end up having a criminal record and a lot of serial killers have this mental illness. I agree with you that this may have nothing to do with their childhood. People with great childhoods and loving parents could still develop ASPD and be extremely cruel to animals. This is not something someone who loves animals or doesn't love animals but knows and recognize that this is something that cruel and not with the norm. If you see someone like this, again avoid the h*ll out of them because majority of the time, they move onto people next.

I hope those kids were prosecuted! Those are the initial signs of a serial killer. They usually start with small animals and move up to humans. -- Horrific! I am so sorry cruel, sick kids tortured and killed your animals !

In some countries you can actually report these things to the authorities who take approproate measures for such animal offenders. However, this is a very complicated case because the "criminals" are underage and they killed animals, not humans, so in the law they might appear as innocent. But seriously, I don't understand, what's the pleasure in a dog's noisy high pitch tone of painful crying, or a repulsive sight of a broken mammal's head? There surely HAS to be a defect in their brains. They should be sent to mental hospitals, all of them!

I am so sorry for your horrible experiences. Losing a pet is bad, but having one murdered is just horrible. Our 1 YO cat Rambo was outside sitting on our driveway, and some sick bastard drove up onto our lawn and continued, and ran him down in the driveway. We did all we could but Rambo went Over The Bridge three hours later. His brother and sisters do not go out. Sick monsters are all too common in this world </3 Thank Goodness for people like you - rescuers - and all the good people out there.

Its very sad your right. Whats more sad is that how a mindset of some people is created - why do they do this and how we can prevent this is the real question. People who tend to do such horrific deeds were not brought up in a stable household, beaten and abused is what leads to this and other horrible events and the wrong teachings. Its beautiful to know that the dog is doing better but to prevent this from happening again we need a better society filled with love and teachings of good deeds..
