Woman Rescues “Aggressive” Albino Raccoon From Horrible Conditions, And Now She Won’t Stop Cuddling
One day Maxine Baird, the founder of A New Hope animal sanctuary in Georgia, was contacted and asked if she would temporarily take in a very aggressive albino raccoon. Baird had already raised over 200 raccoons, but she expected this one to be the worst. The animal care people said the animal had been through hell, with the abuse and the most horrific conditions…
However, when the raccoon arrived, she didn’t look aggressive – rather sad, scared, and unhealthy. “She was covered in feces, urine — so much to the point that she had urine burns all over her rear and stomach,” Baird told The Dodo. The raccoon also had excruciating sores all over the pads of her feet.
Then one day something amazing happened. “I’d been going through some stuff in my personal life… so I went out there, and I sat by her and she came right up to me… She hadn’t come up to anyone yet, and she came up and sniffed me, and put her little hands in my hand.” Baird added: “Ever since then, she’s been honestly the sweetest raccoon I’ve ever met… We just had a really good connection.” Now the two won’t stop kissing and cuddling, and the animal is glued to his new ‘mom’. However, Baird is quick to remind that raccoons are NOT to be kept as pets and that eventually the friendly albino will have to live outside with other raccoons.
