When New Dehli-based Karishma Walia found out that her potential husband is not of fan of dogs and wouldn’t want one after marriage, it became clear to her that it’s going to be an issue. So she turned down the arranged marriage.
“Having a dog is definitely not a temporary phase. I can’t abandon my dog for anyone,” Walia told him in a Whatsapp conversation. Though the guy still tried to get her to reconsider, it didn’t work. Walia just loves her pooch, Lucy, too much and if he can’t accept that – it’s a dealbreaker! She posted the full Whatsapp conversation to Facebook, and people on the Internet have been supporting her since. Take a look below!

What arrogance?! Pet is for life. Not something you dump just because it gets in your way. And I'll be very wary of that guy. He expected her to give up her dog because he didn't like dogs. What else will he be demanding her to give up just because he doesn't approve? I'm so glad she stood firm!

Sounds like he is controlling and abusive. She did herself a big favor by rejecting him and keeping her dog. The dog will give her unconditional love. The husband, abuse and no love.

It's not even about the dog, it's about accepting other people's stuff if you want a relationship. The dude is a douche and has no respect for other people, he wants what he wants and that's it.

Very brave of her to stand up against this since pre-arranged marriages can have alot of pressure coming from both families. And I think it's just awesome she won't give up her dog because someone tells her to. I would do the same though, you don't have to love my pets the same way I do but telling me to get rid of them... How about no, I'll just stay with my pets.

Good for you girl! If only more people were like you. In a marriage, arranged or not, you need to be accepted for who you are - including everything you come with! A pet is a life-long commitment and deserves the best love and care you can give. As for someone who doesnt like animals - always be wary of them. Best decision of your life right here!
