Cops See A Dog Hanging By Leash From A Car Window, Stop To Help Him
When Sergeant Jason Legleiter and Police Officer Wade Hammond turned up at a local Walmart in Arkansas City, Kansas, in response to a shoplifting call, they weren’t prepared for what they found. Because after arresting the suspect in question, the cops were alerted to an altogether more shocking crime – a dog was hanging by its leash from a car window in the parking lot.
They rushed to the car and cut the pup free but the dog appeared to be dead. Officer Hammond removed its collar and tried to revive him by applying pressure to the dog’s side, and although it seemed as if they were too late, the pup miraculously began to show signs of life.
The cops gave it water and plenty of love and several minutes later the lucky pup had made a full recovery. It seems that the owners had tied the animal up inside the car to stop it jumping out of the window, and when the dog tried to leap from the car it ended up suspended by its neck. We’ve heard of cats having nine lives but this little dog clearly has a few of his own!
Arkansas City Police Department refused to reveal whether the owners had been charged or not. They did however release a statement on their Facebook page that read: “All of the information was gathered and it will be up to the prosecutor to decide if any charges will be filed.”
