Read the recipe thoroughly. This might sound like something Captain Obvious would advise, but admit it: There probably have been instances when you neglected to read the full instructions and ended up with a bona fide cooking fails. 

Don’t overcrowd the pan. Striving to cook everything all at once might seem like a stellar idea, but overcrowding might lead to some pieces burning and others staying pretty much raw. 

Try to find the balance in seasonings. Underseasoning might be the lesser evil here since you can season a bit more once you’re done, but overseasoning might ruin the beautiful taste you were hoping for. Again, reading the recipe might help here!

Avoid opening the oven door too often. We get it—it’s beautiful to watch a cake bake or the cheese on the pizza melt and bubble. However, opening the oven door too often might cause the temperature inside to fluctuate, which might affect the cooking process.
