Living in Mississippi as a child, snow was something of a mythical substance. Every other winter a few flakes would magically fall from the sky and cover the ground for a day or two. When these snow days happened, there was great excitement, especially at my house where my mother would stay up all night watching the big flakes fall from the sky.
As an adult, that feeling of magic is deeply embedded in me. When I experience snow now, I still feel that excitement that I experienced as a child of wonder. Each snowflake is unique, and I want to photograph them all.
Each of these images was taken with an iPhone and a macro attachment.
