Lyft Driver Refuses To Take Drunk Girl Home, And His Reason Why Is Going Viral
If you heard about a taxi driver refusing to take a drunk girl home, you might think it’s because he was scared that she was going to puke in his car. But while that is obviously a legitimate thing to be worried about, this taxi driver had a much more important reason for refusing to let a highly intoxicated girl into his cab.
The man, Tro’juan Henderson, is a Lyft driver in Dallas, Texas, and as you can see from the video below, his decision to decline the fare had little to do with his concern for his upholstery and everything to do with making a powerful statement about rape culture. The video has been retweeted over 11k times and liked by more than 14k people since Henderson posted it on Twitter, and it’s easy to see why when you watch it.

Good on him, he hit the nail on the head, I wonder what the "friends" decided.... Hope that lady DID get home okay.
I think he did the right thing, but her friends didn't . Why would you hand over keys to your friends apartment to a perfect stranger with her so drunk? At least one of them should have taken the ride with her. They probably wanted to keep partying.
Why wouldn't her friends make sure she got home safely? Maybe this isn't the first time the friends were dealing with this level of intoxication. Maybe the friends were tired of having to babysit a grown adult. Maybe they told their friend not to get s**t faced and to be a responsible adult. Maybe the drunkard was pushing boundaries.
Load More Replies...Also..I would like to point out... if you do give a friend a ride home and take their car key to make sure they don't drive while drunk, be kind enough to leave their house key with them. A young woman I know was drunk, friends gave her a ride home and kept her car keys and, unknowingly, her house keys. None of them walked her inside and left. She couldn't get in her house. She was damn lucky her neighbors were also good friends and let her crash on their couch that night.
In a country where 20% of all college women will suffer from persistent sexual advances and 10% will be raped it is nice to know there are men who understand that we do have a culture of rape in this nation. And this womens friends are not friends if they think what they did was acceptable.
My (male) flatmate spent about an hour getting a drunk woman home on friday. She'd been dumped in a taxi who had thrown her out near us after she'd been sick. She was all alone with no idea where she was or what was going on. Can be really scary, so many near misses out there.
Good job!!!! That was a smart move because no telling what would have happened and you would have been blamed
