Our closest animal relatives, the bonobos, engage in frequent same-sex "copulation". There are gay animals. But does it matter? You only love someone because of procreation? You shouldn't love at all then as for procreation it's best to have multiple partners and have a very diverse genepoule. Love isn't necessary for procreation. I will love my partner (and yes i'm heterosexual but i don't care as love is love) and not worry about procreation.
