Doing the “right” thing isn’t always easy, but it pays off – or does it?

John Christopher Morton is the latest actor to star as a conflicted whistleblower in the new political satire feature film “August Lucey.”

The film was written and directed by Dylan Latimer and Jesse Karch and premieres at the Workers Unite! Film Festival in New York City on May 11, 2017.

John stars as August Lucey, a young man trying to find his political identity and make sense of his life. Frustrated and working in pharmaceutical advertising, August becomes a whistleblower to expose unethical drug testing. After leaving his job to join a group of radicals living off the grid, August must come to terms with the fact that he doesn’t fit in to this new world.

Indie film fans will recognize John as the alien disguised as a Mormon missionary in Caleb Emerson’s cult-favorite, “Frankie In Blunderland.” He also appeared alongside Louis C.K. and pro-boxer Heather ‘The Heat’ Hardy in FX series “Louie”; and portrayed character actor Daniel Stern for Biography Channel’s “Celebrity Ghost Stories.”

New Yorkers might also remember John from the music scene as a DJ of electronic and experimental music and forming the post punk band Lycaon Pictus. He can also be spotted playing with his former band in Austin Chick’s film festival fav, “Girls Against Boys.”
