These river maps show all the temporary and permanent streams and rivers of an area and were born as an experimentation with new datasets in my free time, and also out of frustration with ‘every other’ river map out there. I was tired of looking at all the same maps, with every river blue, and every line the same width. I have to say though most of the beauty of these maps comes from the way nature’s forces conspired to create these amazing network of streams and rivers.

I’m on a mission of living and volunteering on every continent. I finance myself from selling my maps as digital prints on Etsy, and with taking office jobs in-between voluntary positions. Every time I have the budget, I choose an NGO on a new continent (mostly in wildlife conservation), and offer my work and mapping skills for free for a few months. I get to travel and experience the world, they get free work in a very valuable and specialized field. Win-win. I’ve worked with marine mammals in Alaska and Portugal, orangutans in Indonesia and archaeologists in the Caribbean. (Note: This was not a list of animals I’ve worked with.)

I work between arts and sciences, trying to show the beauty of the natural world, yet still in a completely digital way.
