Wearing the hijab is marking yourself as property. It's about hiding your hair to make yourself ugly so you won't attract attention from anyone but the man who owns you. It's the mark of slavery. Women who choose to wear it when they have a choice don't understand this. They're either too young to get it, or at some level, they're frightened to take it off.

Nope. Feminism is about social equality of the sexes. Period. "so in feminism what's important is what women choose" Where are the feminists protesting female genital mutilation and suppression of women in other countries? Oh, right. It's only western women that need to be equal with men.

Problem w/ the hijab? Most women don't CHOOSE to wear it, they're FORCED. 3rd wave feminists try to gloss over by calling it empowerment

How entitled to believe only your vision of freedom is valid, while you might think a hijab is a mark of property someone might say the same of a wedding ring or giving up your last name... Feminism is a living global movement and as such it moves at different paces and levels on each country, culture and even each woman... as stated it aims for political, economic, and social equality giving the freedom of choice to each woman to live as they decide just like men do without being judged or punished for it... There are feminists working all over the world to achieve this, for some the improvements might seem small compared to the ones already achieved in their countries, but even slowly they are moving. For some reason I can't reply to the comments below. I know most so called 'feminists' would hate me for saying I was an egalitarian. But that would mean that they aren't real feminists. Feminism was a movement for equal rights for all, not just women. It was just that it was a movement started by women. 'Feminists' that disagree and think women should be superior are as bad as the misogynistic men they complain about...

Your right 1st & 2nd wave feminists were good but 3rd wave feminists seem to focused on non important things and not fix actual problems
