If you’ve ever cut a simple snowflake out of a sheet of paper, you should be able to appreciate this incredibly intricate paper art by U.S.-based artist Maude White. The painstaking detail with which she cuts her beautiful artworks out of paper is absolutely stunning.
Incredibly enough, White does her detailed art by hand, using a craft knife to cut tiny lines and draw images with the paper’s empty negative space. “I have great respect for paper. When I cut, the thin membranous material reveals its strength to me,” the artist explains on her website. “White paper is everywhere and it has been telling stories for centuries.”
White is also the owner of the Brave Bird Paperwork And Jewelry company, so she does more unique artworks than just cut out amazing paper illustrations. She sells her cuttings, as well as felt jewelry and other works of art, in her online shop.
