Finally, There’s A Gym That Offers Napping Classes For Tired Adults, And Here’s How It Works

Leaving less and less time for sleep has sort of become a trademark for the modern 21st-century person. And with that comes a slew of undesired consequences, like the constant tiredness, stress and so on. That’s where one gym in the UK saw an opportunity and opened up napping classes.

That’s right, now you can pay for 15-minute stretching exercise followed by a 45-minute nap in an “ideal temperature” room full of strangers, and still call it “going to the gym.”

The organizers call it “Nap-Ercise” and they say the class will: “reinvigorate the mind, improve moods, and even burn the odd calorie,” which is just abstract enough for it not to be false.

Although, there might be some science behind it. According to a study done at the Allegheny College in Pennsylvania, participants who took a 45-minute nap in the middle of their day handled stress better than those who didn’t. And a different study from UC Berkeley found that an afternoon nap could increase the brain’s learning capacity.

For now, the class is on a trial run at David Lloyd Clubs in Sidcup, UK, and if it’s a success, the gyms might include the class in a membership cost in the other clubs across the UK.

It's not ridiculous if people are willing to pay to do it. If there's a market for it, heck I'll set up my own dormitory and call it a gym!
