Gustav Klimt’s Paintings Get Recreated With Real-Life Models, And The Result Is Amazing
Have you ever wondered what some of your favorite paintings would look like in real life? Austrian photographer Inge Prader has recreated selected iconic works from her compatriot Gustav Klimt, resulting in stunning pictures.
Klimt is most commonly associated with the Art Nouveau style, a bold and elaborate aesthetic that originated at around the turn of the 20th century. The beautiful art aesthetic inspired artists as well as architects such as Barcelona’s Gaudi to create ornate and rich works of art that reflected the optimism of the time.
Prader’s vivid photo recreations are based on Klimt’s Golden Phase of 1899-1910. This is evident in the luscious golden hues of the occasionally erotic scenes; models are often nude, intertwined, and surrounded by gold ornaments that bring out the warm decadence of the famous paintings.
The series of creative photography shots were taken for Life Ball, an annual event in Vienna that seeks to raise funds to help fight HIV/AIDS.
We think that Inge Prader and her models did an incredible job bringing these beautiful paintings to life through modern photography art. What do you think? Which of your favorite works of art would you like to see given a similar makeover? Let us know in the comments below!

“Beethoven Frieze”
Good that they airbrushed his d**k out. I'd never be able to sleep again if I saw one of those.
In the Hieronymus Bosch Art Center in 's Hertogenbosch (The Netherlands) some photo's are shown made in the similar way, 'modernizing' Bosch medieval works.
“Death And Life”
"How clever, I wish I would have thought of that. It never occured to me to just take a photo!" -Gustav Klimt upon seeing this.
And now in this Puritan world (thanks US and Muslims) the baby has clothes.
whywhy!! leave artists works alone to stand as they were created... dont need to be recreated... do your own thing!!!!Fark!!!
What are the two guys on the right depicting they're not in the painting?
“Danae”
While this is very pretty, it's disappointing. The model should be much more voluptuous. Part of the beauty of the original is the lush curves of the original model's thigh.
This one was "Mature" but the naked people in the previous pictures weren't?!?
Disappointed that she didn't stay true to the curvy female body of the original painting.
The model is too thin. The girl in the painting has big, thick legs.
I definitely think that the model is too thin and not curled up enough. In the original, the thigh and abdomen are significantly noticeable.
“Beethoven Frieze”
because they are wearing suits not real pubic hair or nipples
Load More Replies...This is really beautiful but I think they missed the whole point because the black-haired girls look sensual in the picture (they look afraid and shameful in the painting) and the "goldy" girls on the right look just bored in the picture when they are in fact the ones who should look seductive.

as stunning as they are, it was still a bit disappointing to see the differences from the originals, it's either recreated in full or it's just inspired xD
Load More Replies...Wonderful idea, but I find it disappointing that one of the most beautiful pictures - Danae, is recreated by a skinny model who simply does not do it justice, not just because of the figure, but most importantly - it lacks the sensuality of it.
The concept was nice but there were many errors, especially the changing of sizes and editing of details.
The originals had a genuine impact - I guess that's the difference between art and real life
I'm confused, and somewhat disappointed, as to why some of the images don't have the original paintings to go with the reproductions?
