People Can’t Take Their Eyes Off A Giant Boob That Appeared In London To Make A Powerful Statement
London is well-known for having a diverse skyline, and as you can see from these pictures, the city just became even more distinct thanks to a giant inflatable breast that recently appeared in Shoreditch.
The oversized anatomy comes courtesy of Mother London, a British independent creative agency that hopes to raise awareness about the social stigmas surrounding breastfeeding. The giant boob appeared on Mother’s Day (March 26 in the UK) and it’s part of the #freethefeed campaign, a movement that promotes a non-judgmental approach to feeding. “It’s hard to believe that in 2017, UK mothers still feel watched and judged when feeding in public,” writes Mother London in a blog post. “This was our mother’s day project. A celebration of every woman’s right to decide how and where they feed their children without feeling guilty or embarrassed about their parenting choices.”

Share on FacebookIt makes me pleased that this will make so many judgemental people uncomfortable. Usually the same people that are happy with a massive billboard of a half naked girl selling something and not realise their hypocrisy. Hopefully this will make some people realise that if you have the right to eat, a baby has the right to be fed when they're hungry. It is disgusting to think that anyone could put their awkwardness/inability to not sexualise a boob before a hungry baby... If you don't like it, don't look!
It makes me uncomfortable but that's part of raising awareness and I welcome it. :)
Load More Replies...While I support women breastfeeding in public (except maybe not in restaurants. Personally I get a bit queasy when I see babies eating ANYTHING) and not seeing female nudity as something explicitly sexual, while male nudity is just brushed off, but I don't feel like "disembodied inflatable boob" was the most convincing method to go about spreading this message.
I agree - but I kinda think maybe they're saying - "hey! Here's a boob! Do you recognize it? If not, get used to it!" I don't have a problem with breast-feeding in public, but I kinda wonder about the women who tend to "shove it in people's faces". I always just gently laid a receiving blanket over the two of us. People knew precisely what was happening there LOL. but I wasn't "flaunting" ANYthing. Not trying to make a point, or anything LIKE that - just feeding my son.

just speaking for myself BF was really hard and having to worry if anyone could see made it impossible. I never fed outside.
