This Fish Can Decide Where To Go By Controlling Its Robotic Fish Tank
This goldfish is not just any fish, it controls a robotic tank with its movement. As it changes its position relative to the middle of the tank, so does the speed and direction of a robot, allowing the pet to exercise some agency.
The invention was made by a group of friends for Build18, annual engineering festival organized by Carnegie Mellon University. “We were sitting around one day trying to think of project ideas when we looked at the Fish in our Fraternity house, Walter, and decided it would be awesome if he could hang out with us! From there, coming up with a design was pretty simple,” Zachary Newman told Bored Panda. The guys say they built the robot in three days, but are planning to make an improved version with higher grade materials provided by Intel.
Fish controlling robots… What could go wrong, right?
