What Is The Difference Between Living in New York and San Francisco?
Moving is always traumatic, but moving from NYC to San Francisco is like moving from the Earth to the Moon. This was the experience of writer, comedian, and blogger Sarah Cooper, who made the move to California after 5 years in New York and decided to compare the differences in a series of hilarious illustrations.
Rivalry between denizens of different cities can be bitter, so let us consider the facts. According to CNN’s cost of living calculator, housing and utilities are 45% and 35% more expensive in Manhattan when compared to San Francisco, but healthcare costs 6% less. Another statistic says that life in NYC is 12% more expensive in general, although if you live in Brooklyn instead of Manhattan, it’s about the same.
There’s a lot to consider, and it’s not all numbers, either. Where would you rather live?

Share on FacebookThe "silently judging" part is hilarious. And I would highly disagree about the weather in SF though.
Similar comparisons could be made between Hamburg, Munich & Frankfurt or Johannesburg, Durban & Cape Town.
Funny, yeah, and some of them are perfect for SF. BUT: as others have said, the weather here is actually perfect here an aggregate of about a month or two a year (usually September, plus spots other times). Also, on work days more people ride the train than drive, parties go late here, and young single people here go on a f-ton of dates.
