the lip drawings arised form thinking about human communication. the ambivalence, which is part of our spoken words and typical for human behaviour, interests me and is included in a few of my works. in this sense the lip drawings represent another facet of my philosophy.
none of my works were simply aesthetic exercises. on the one hand they are always like encrypted fragments of a diary and on the other hand, from the beginning of my work as a painter i wasn’t interested in making just nice pictures to hang them up on walls. “playing” with polarity of life is never just beautiful.
each painting is a new challenge to cross my borders (in different senses) and so a thigthrope walk. but i enjoy that because it satisfies me. very similar to have children.
it’s not so important what i say or feel about my works, instead of that your own story is more interesting. and if you get inspiration and/or the opportunity to find out something new about yourself by one of my pictures, i did my work well.
