Trying to imagine this as a Hanukkah card starring the Jewish baby and her Jewish parents. I cannot imagine my own parents giving that out back when I was an infant (in the ancient times of the eighties) but I can guess the thoughts: Oy gevalt! What is happening here? Why is the lady who is always changing my diaper and inspecting my poop and the man with the weird peergeh kissing my face? Someone is taking a ferkakte picture of it?! I haven't even got a smidge of makeup on! Hold my hat, man with the shmekl. I need red lipstick, stat!"

don't force your kid into a stranger's lap and wonder why they cry. sit next to santa with them on your lap (dad's lap, sibling's lap whatever). stranger danger and seriously, guy they don't know and can't see his face all covered in red and fur, no that's not scary

Most of these aren't fails at all. A more accurate headline would be "amateur photos look amateur while capturing more interesting facial expressions than the photos they're trying to emulate". The ones with the little girls on Santa's lap, where one has a miserable looking Santa and the other a miserable looking child, I wouldn't have known which one was supposed to be the "fail" but the second one is actually more professional looking, with better lighting.

all of these photos are examples why you shouldn't take pictures like this with your damn cell phones, put the phones away and use a real camera with large aperture.
