Abused Dog Who Spent 8 Years Sleeping On Concrete Floor In Basement Gets All The Beds She Wants
Lola the doggie had spent 8 years chained up in a dark garage just lying on cold concrete floor, prior to being rescued by AMA Animal Rescue. For the last seven weeks she has been living with her new human mom, Charlène von Saher, in Manhattan. During that time, the abused doggie has already perfected the art or relaxation, taking the concept of ‘comfort’ to the next level.
“She figured out where her little beds were, and what was soft and what was comfortable for her,” von Saher told The Dodo. She has done it all – sleeping across two dog beds, stacking one dog bed on top of the other and even stealing von Saher’s pillow to put into her bed.
“She actually took a throw pillow off of my bed, and put it into her dog bed,” von Saher said. “When I came home, her head was on it — she literally made herself a little bed in her bed with my pillow. It was like ‘The Princess and the Pea’ — I guess she liked having multiple cushions underneath her.”
Von Saher feels like she couldn’t have found a better dog for a busy New Yorker like herself, as Lola always reminds her of the importance of chilling. “I absolutely adore her,” von Saher added. “She’s added so much to my life already.”
