People Are Obsessed With This 22-Year-Old Guy Who Had A Bob Ross Birthday Party

Do you have a birthday coming up? Wondering what to do for it? Well Chris Nervegna from South River, New Jersey just came up with a great idea. He and his friends had a Bob Ross-themed party for his 22nd birthday, and now we all want one!

For those of you who don’t know, Bob Ross was an American landscape painter and art instructor best known for his instructional TV program called The Joy of Painting (oh, and he was also pretty famous for his awesome permed afro too). He still has a massive fan-base but it seems like Chris took it to the next level entirely.

He and his friends bought paint, brushes, and canvases, and gathered around the TV so they could paint along to one of Bob’s episodes. Chris, who’s a graphic design student at Kean University and who even has his own brand of clothing, told Bored Panda, “I am in no way an artist when it comes to painting, but I am eternally blessed with such a talented group of friends. I can’t say I’ve always been a fan of Bob Ross [but] I stumbled upon his segment on Netflix one day and fell in love with his enthusiasm.” When asked if he had any advice for people planning to have their own Bob Ross party, Chris said, “Don’t get discouraged if your painting is turning out horrible. All of ours were! If things start to get complicated, go in your own direction! It’s your own painting, have fun with it!”

Chris posted pictures of his party on Twitter and they’ve since been shared more than 32k times and liked by over 108k people. “BEST. DAY. EVER.” he wrote, and we believe him. Just don’t forget to invite us next time!

Bob Ross is American folklore. He was on t.v. EVERY Saturday morning. What most people don't know is that Bob served 20 years in the Air Force. With the rank of Master Sergeant, he was required to be that "mean guy who yelled at you" when he later left the military, he vowed to "never yell again" and started The Joy of Painting.

Looks like a happy little birthday party (if you actually ever watched Bob Ross you'll get the reference)

Wow! Such dedication! And he got a lot of pretty paintings as presents too. I know this was a joke, but really it's touching.
